osso-xterm

This is a leetle hack agains the osso-xterm from http://770.fs-security.com/xterm/. It adds font and color selection support. Mistral version now includes also url opening support.

maemo 1.1/it2005

Get your copy at http://maemo-hackers.org/apt/pool/main/o/osso-xterm/osso-xterm_0.12_arm.deb.

Note, this will _not_ work with the it2006 software version, see below for that one.

mistral/it2006

For it2006 you can grab your copy with the application installer: Launch up application manager (tools/application manager). From the menu, choose tools/application catalogue and press new button, then fill in the following:

Then close the catalogs dialog and press ok to refresh the list of packages. Now you are ready to install, choose install new applications from the main view and osso-xterm should appear under Applications. If you already have a version of osso-xterm installed, use "check for updates" instead.

Should you find a bug or find it lacking, create a ticket for component osso-xterm.

bora/it2007

Try the .install file.

If it does't work, you mostly follow the instructions from mistral/it2006, but use Distribution bora instead of mistral, i.e.:

no network install

If you don't have available network for your 770, do the following: Get http://maemo-hackers.org/apt/pool/main/n/ncurses/ncurses-base_5.5-1_all.deb http://maemo-hackers.org/apt/pool/main/n/ncurses/libncurses5_5.5-1_armel.deb http://maemo-hackers.org/apt/pool/main/v/vte/libvte-common_0.12.2-0mh2_all.deb http://maemo-hackers.org/apt/pool/main/v/vte/libvte4_0.12.2-0mh2_armel.deb http://maemo-hackers.org/apt/pool/main/t/ttf-bitstream-vera/ttf-bitstream-vera_1.10-4mh1_all.deb and http://maemo-hackers.org/apt/pool/main/o/osso-xterm/osso-xterm_0.13.mh24_armel.deb and place them onto mmc card.

For N800/770 Hacker edition, use http://maemo-hackers.org/apt/pool/main/o/osso-xterm/osso-xterm_0.13.mh24bora1_armel.deb instead.

Then enable red-pill mode in application manager and install the packages with Package -> Install from file... in the same order as above.

osso-xterm supports multible tabs, but tabs reduce the usable screen are on an already smallish screen. Please support multiple xterm windows as well.

osso-xterm with 256 color support

Got a ticket asking for 256 color support for vte. Well, the ticket is now closed fixed and the latest vte in maemo-hackers.org repository supports this feature. No new osso-xterm release yet to pull in the lib, but with red-pill or apt-get you can get some more colours for yourself.
